The New York Fire Department responded to a three-alarm fire in Queens Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 11:20 a.m. ET on the western edge of the borough.
The FDNY said in a press conference that firefighters arrived to find that there were flames in the walls of a fifth-floor apartment that had spread through the sixth floor and to the roof of the non-fireproofed building.
No residents were injured and two firefighters suffered minor injuries, according to the department. There was “extensive damage” to the building and at least 10 apartments.
The department said that the cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshals.
